The success of a company often hinges on the strength of its partnerships, and BCI Minerals is lucky to collaborate with some of the best contractors who are instrumental in driving our construction progress forward.

Since August 2023, Pilbara Quarries has played an indispensable role in supporting BCI Minerals’ ambitious infrastructure initiatives, by securing and delivering rock armour to the Mardie Salt and Potash Project.

Pilbara Quarries is a joint venture between Nyiyaparli Traditional Owner, Stewart Drage, and Martin Shuttleworth and has been instrumental in providing roughly 100,000 tonnes of rock for the gas pipeline corridor.

The rock is a crucial element in forming the embankments that will strengthen the evaporation pond walls and ultimately allow these ponds to be filled with seawater.

Pilbara Quarries will deliver an additional 100,000t for the construction of seawalls for Ponds 6-9 over the coming months.

BCI Minerals Contracts Specialist, Keith Wood, said the partnership with Pilbara Quarries is vital to our success.

“Pilbara Quarries has been an exceptional partner who has consistently demonstrated flexibility and a willingness to meet our evolving needs,” Mr Wood said.

“Their status as a local Traditional Owner joint venture aligns with BCI Minerals’ values and our Australian Industry Participation Plan by reducing transport costs and providing a sustainable supply chain.”

The significance of Pilbara Quarries’ contribution extends beyond logistical advantages.

Their compliance with the stringent rock specifications set by Santos and Chevron for the pipeline highlights their capability.

They have also supported Q H & M Birt’s high production needs by maintaining a rapid turnaround time, essential for the project's success.

“Pilbara Quarries' commitment to quality and efficiency has been pivotal,” Mr Wood said.

“Their ability to deliver under stringent specifications and tight schedules has been a major factor in our ongoing success.”

For Pilbara Quarries, the partnership with BCI Minerals has also been productive and transparent.

“BCI Mineral’s requirements were clearly outlined, and the contracting stage was a really seamless process,” sad Pilbara Quarries Director, Mr Shuttleworth.

“Since execution, our targets have been met and clearly articulated with those on site, with open Iines of communication that have created a straightforward scope of work.”

Our collaboration with Pilbara Quarries stands as a testament to the positive impact of local partnerships in achieving operational excellence and community benefits.
