Benefits

The success of a company often hinges on the strength of its partnerships, and BCI Minerals is lucky to collaborate with some of the best businesses in Western Australia.

The diverse array of contractors which BCI works with are instrumental in driving forward the Mardie Project and propelling the company towards new heights.

We want to shine a spotlight on the impact of these partnerships and thank these businesses for their ongoing support.

In a bid to enhance operational efficiencies and ensure smooth project execution, BCI Minerals has been working with WA Fuel, a leading fuel provider in Western Australia.

The partnership, which commenced in early 2022, has proven instrumental in delivering substantial cost savings and logistical advantages for BCI's flagship Mardie Project.

Since then, WA Fuel has delivered more than 12 million litres and driven 53,000 kilometres across the Pilbara without incident.

“Our investment with WA Fuel has facilitated the seamless delivery of a significant volume of fuel essential for Mardie's operations,” said BCI Minerals Procurement Manager Solomon Patha.

“They have really come to the party to give us savings and efficiencies in delivering fuel to our Mardie site.”

The Mardie Project relies on the fuel for its day-to-day activities during the construction phase, with BCI supplying fuel to all its contractors for their heavy earthmoving machinery that is used on site, as well as all site light vehicles and generators.

However, the partnership extends beyond transactions, with Mr Patha highlighting the invaluable support provided by WA Fuel during challenging circumstances, such as cyclones.

“WA Fuel is always available for support,” he said.

“The driver that delivers fuel is almost like part of BCI as he is familiar with BCI people and very versed with Mardie conditions.”

Benefits

The collaboration has fostered a culture of innovation and mutual benefit, with BCI consistently in discussions with WA Fuel owner Andrew Glover to come up with initiatives and saving opportunities.

This proactive approach has solidified WA Fuel’s position as BCI's preferred local supplier for fuel and fuel tanks.

WA Fuel have enjoyed a fantastic partnership with BCI Minerals, whether working through solutions at BCI head office in Perth, to onsite delivery at Mardie.

“WA Fuel sincerely thanks the BCI team for their engagement and willingness to work with us to provide an outcome,” Mr Glover said.

“We look forward to continuing to play an integral part in helping BCI achieve their goal of a world-class project.”

The collaborative efforts between BCI Minerals and WA Fuel underscore the importance of strategic alliances in the successful execution of large-scale projects.

As the Mardie Project progresses, BCI remains committed to delivering exceptional results while prioritising operational excellence and sustainability.
