In our commitment to strong health and safety performance, BCI Minerals is proud to announce a significant advancement in its emergency response capabilities - a second ambulance strategically acquired to allow prompt medical assistance across its expansive worksite.
With ongoing construction activities in two distinct areas at the Mardie Project site, this additional ambulance will minimise unwanted risks and ensure prompt medical assistance across the expansive geography of our operations.
This newly acquired ambulance, larger than the conventional model, features a stretcher and two seats, providing paramedics with enhanced flexibility for efficient dual-operator responses during critical situations.
BCI Procurement Manager Solomon Patha said it reflects the company’s commitment to health and safety.
“We are immensely pleased with the outcome, knowing that this investment will bolster our emergency response capabilities and contribute to the overall wellbeing of our teams,” Mr Patha said.
“Health and safety is not just a goal; it's a continuous journey, and this ambulance marks a noteworthy milestone in our pursuit of strong health and safety outcomes.”
The journey to secure a second ambulance led the procurement and operations team leaders to Melbourne, where the unit was personally inspected and promptly acquired.
Opting for a second-hand vehicle was a deliberate decision, demonstrating BCI's dedication to effective cost management without compromising on quality.
The successful negotiation and purchase resulted in a substantial saving of more than $300,000 for BCI, showcasing the company's commitment to smart and strategic procurement.
The second ambulance is poised to significantly bolster BCI's emergency response capabilities, contributing to the overall health and safety of its teams.
