BCI RAP

BCI takes a significant step towards fostering understanding and appreciation of Indigenous culture and history.

In a momentous move towards enhancing its commitment to reconciliation, BCI Minerals proudly announces the endorsement of its 'Reflect' Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) by the Board and Reconciliation Australia.

This landmark achievement underscores BCI's dedication to promoting awareness and respect for the rich cultural heritage and history of Indigenous Australians and the Traditional Owners of the land and waters upon which the company operates.

The 'Reflect' RAP is an integral component of BCI's comprehensive framework designed to drive the advancement of reconciliation efforts. This framework captures the company's ongoing efforts to support and promote reconciliation and formalises these initiatives into a structured commitment.

Set to commence from September 2023 and extend through December 2024, the 'Reflect' RAP constitutes the inaugural phase of a four-stage journey that BCI is embarking upon. The subsequent stages—Innovate, Stretch, and Elevate—will facilitate the continuous development of reconciliation commitments.

"The endorsement of the 'Reflect' RAP stands as a momentous initial step for BCI and our entire team as we embark on the path to reconciliation," said BCI Managing Director David Boshoff.

“We recognise the importance of our role in contributing to the reconciliation process and are committed to amplifying the understanding and appreciation of Indigenous culture and history."

Local Ngarluma (Karratha) and Mardudhunera (Mardie) woman, Merinda Churnside, contributed a dedicated artwork to feature in the Plan.

REFLECT RECONCILIATION ACTION PLAN SEPT 2023 – DEC 2024

As part of its commitment, BCI aims to draw insights and lessons from the outcomes achieved during the implementation of the 'Reflect' RAP. These learnings will guide the development of subsequent RAPs, ensuring a continuous evolution of the company's efforts and engagement in reconciliation.

In line with this commitment, BCI is gearing up to collaborate with various stakeholders, including Traditional Owners, to ensure that its initiatives are respectful, impactful, and aligned with the objectives of reconciliation.
